How it works
Photo in, room out
Upload the image
A photo of the plan from a listing, a screenshot of a PDF, a scan of the architect's drawing. Images up to 8 MB. You can also paste it into the editor.
Let the trace run, then correct it
In about 20 seconds the walls, doors and windows are drawn over the image. Drag a corner, move a door, fix a wall the plan drew faintly; it is your plan now.
Check the scale and confirm
Compare one wall against a measurement you know and adjust if needed. Confirm, and the plan opens as a 3D room with real furniture to place.
What the trace is good at
Clear plans trace well, blurry ones need a hand
A listing plan or an architect's drawing with clean lines traces almost completely. A photo taken at an angle, or a plan with furniture drawn into it, may need a few corrections, which is why the trace lands in an editor rather than straight in 3D. Interior walls it is unsure about are easy to add or remove.
The trace is free and needs no account. There is a small limit on how many traces a device can run per minute, so a rush of uploads may ask you to wait a moment.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What kinds of floor plan images work?+
A photo, a screenshot or an exported page of a plan, as a common image format up to 8 MB. Listing plans, architect's drawings and hand-drawn plans all work; clean lines trace best.
How long does the trace take?+
About 20 seconds for the walls, doors and windows. Correcting anything it got wrong takes as long as you want to spend on it.
Will the room be the right size?+
The trace follows the drawing; the scale is yours to confirm. Check one wall against a measurement you know and adjust it, and the rest of the plan follows.
Do I need an account to upload a floor plan?+
No. Upload, trace and edit without signing up. A free account is only needed to carry the room between devices.
Is it free?+
Yes. Tracing a plan, editing it and furnishing the 3D room are free, with no credits and no watermarks.
