What you can do right now

Everything that matters. Here is the honest list.

  • Open a furnished room and change it. Pick one, drag the sofa, swap the rug, repaint the wall.
  • Draw your own room to scale. Type in your real measurements. What fits on screen fits at home.
  • Add doors and windows where yours actually are, so the light lands where it lands.
  • Furnish it with real products. IKEA, CB2, Herman Miller and more, with the price showing.
  • Walk it in 3D. True to scale, so a 240 cm sofa is a 240 cm sofa.
  • Come back to it later. Your draft stays in the browser you used, so you can close the tab. A copy is saved to Cona too.
  • Buy the pieces you love. Every catalog item links to the retailer.

No credits. No coins. No watermark on anything. No trial that starts billing you in fourteen days.

The honest exceptions

What needs a free account, and why

Three places you will meet a sign-in, and none of them is a price.

01

Scanning your room with your phone

The scan starts on your phone and finishes in the editor on whatever screen you are using. Those two devices have to know they belong to the same person, and an account is how they find each other.

02

Carrying a room between devices

Without an account your draft stays in the browser you used, and a copy is saved to Cona so the room can be reopened. What it will not do is follow you. Start it on your laptop and it will not be on your phone until you make a free account.

03

Posting a room, and the two newer tools

Sharing a room to the feed needs an account. So does photo-to-3D, which turns a photo of a piece into a 3D model and is capped at five for now. So does Imagine, the photoreal polish in the post composer, which costs nothing once you are signed in.

The account is free, it takes a few seconds, and you never have to make one to design a room.

The business model

Why it is free

Because Cona does not make money from you.

When you buy a piece of furniture through a link in Cona, the retailer sometimes pays a commission. It never changes your price, it never decides which pieces you get shown, and Cona is not part of the sale. That is the whole business model, written out in the terms.

So there is no paid tier to nudge you toward, which is why there is no sign-up wall in front of the thing you came for. The FAQ has the rest of it in plain language.

Side by side

The other no-sign-up planners

A few other planners genuinely let you in without an account, and they are good at what they do. Here is where each one lands.

If you want a clean 2D plan to hand a builder, Free Room Planner does that well. If you want the whole thing offline and open source, Sweet Home 3D is genuinely free forever and always has been. If you want to see your actual room, furnished with things you can actually buy, that is the one Cona is built for.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Do I need an account to use Cona?+

No. Open a furnished room or draw your own, and start designing straight away. An account is only needed to scan a room with your phone or to carry a design between devices.

Is the room planner really free?+

Yes. Designing and furnishing as many rooms as you like is free. There are no credits, no coins, no watermarks and no trial that starts billing you later. Two newer tools carry a limit rather than a price: photo-to-3D imports are capped at five for now, and Imagine, the photoreal polish in the post composer, is free once you sign in.

Do I have to download anything?+

No. Cona runs in your browser on desktop and on your phone. There is nothing to install.

Where does my design go if I never sign up?+

It stays in the browser you used, so you can close the tab and come back to it. A copy is saved to Cona too, so the room can be reopened. It will not appear on your other devices unless you make a free account.

Can I buy the furniture I put in the room?+

Yes. Every catalog piece is a real product with a real price and a link to the retailer. If a retailer pays a commission on that link, it costs you nothing extra.

Is there a limit on how many rooms I can design?+

No. There is no project cap, and nothing you make carries a watermark.

What is the catch?+

There is no paid tier to upsell you to. When you buy furniture through a link in Cona, the retailer may pay a commission. That is how it stays free.
