Draw the outline from your measurements, or upload the plan from the listing and let Cona trace the walls, doors and windows in about 20 seconds. Check one wall against a measurement you know.
Place the bed first
The bed is the biggest piece and the hardest to hide. Try it in the corner farthest from the door, along the window wall, or behind a bookshelf, and see what each choice leaves for the rest.
Give the sofa and the desk what is left
Real sofas, desks, shelves and rugs at the retailer's dimensions. A rug under the sofa and a shelf at the foot of the bed are the usual ways to make one room read as two.
Small spaces
In a studio, every piece is a trade
A full bed instead of a queen buys a desk. A loveseat instead of a three-seater buys a dining table. Because the room and the furniture are true to scale, you can make those trades on screen in a minute and keep the version where there is still a path from the door to the window.
